Twenty-six domestic citizens who came to Cambodia to work, on the morning of September 1, were received by the Vietnamese side at Tinh Bien International Border Gate by the authorities of Cambodia.
The news released by the State media quoted the source from Lieutenant Colonel Tran Hoa Hiep – Head of the Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Guard Station, about the reception of 26 citizens as mentioned above. Specifically, out of a total of 26 people handed over by Cambodia, 11 were involved in the Rich World Casino case where 40 people escaped to Vietnam on August 18.
Mr. Hiep said the permanent residence of 26 people who had just been handed over belonged to the northern and central provinces, the Central Highlands, and the Southwest region. After receiving them, the Border Guard station handed them over to the Immigration Department of the An Giang Provincial Police for further verification and clarification in accordance with Vietnam’s regulations.
The news added that bringing back 26 Vietnamese nationals as mentioned above was also contributed by the Vietnamese Embassy in Phnom Penh.

Regarding the status of Vietnamese citizens going abroad to work, the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam quoted by state media on September 1 said the number of dossiers for carrying out consular certification procedures for Vietnamese citizens to take abroad use spiked from 200 to 300% in recent months.
