Sex scandals related to foreign trips of Vietnamese State President and PM

On December 12, the online community continued to stir up the case of 2 suspects, Vietnamese officials, accused of sexually assaulting 2 waitresses at a restaurant in New Zealand.

The incident happened in March 2024. The officials who committed the sexual harassment were among Vietnamese officials going to the country to prepare for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to New Zealand which took place on March 9-11.

Similarly, in November, State President Luong Cuong’s reputation was tarnished when one of his delegation was accused of sexual abuse during his official visit to Chile, on November 9-12.

It is worth mentioning that both of the above shameful sexual harassment cases by Communist officials were hidden by the Communist Party of Vietnam from the people in the country. These cases were only exposed when foreign press spoke out to the world.

So, what is the purpose of the Communist Party covering up these crimes?

The Party often shouts about the morals they created, and then teach each other, as “Revolutionary morality” and “Ho Chi Minh morality.” For many years, the Party and government apparatus have burned countless tax money of the people to support these useless programs.

Those who committed sexual harassment in Chile and New Zealand must have been taught by the Party about “Revolutionary morality” and “Ho Chi Minh morality.” It is unclear whether these morals have taught them, that they can behave so instinctively and immorally?

Speaking of the Party’s response to the above-mentioned depravities, instead of being intolerant, exposing and severely punishing those criminals, to set an example and deter others, the Party has covered up and concealed the incident. This is covering up crimes, encouraging unethical Party members to do wrong, revealing and developing their depraved nature.

After two humiliating exports of “Revolutionary morality,” will the Party be able to rectify this situation? With such systematic cover-up, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to eliminate this situation.

To limit such shameful actions, what needs to be done is for the Party to deal with criminals, both according to Party regulations and the country’s law, without covering up. However, reality shows that the Party does not do so. On the contrary, the Party prohibits the state-controlled press from talking about this issue.

Most of the comments on social media said that the crimes of those vile officials were a disgrace to the nation. However, the officials remained indifferent, acting as if nothing had happened, and more broadly, the entire Party was shameless.

It is known that those who committed sexual harassments  abroad were all soldiers of former Minister of Public Security and incumbent General Secretary To Lam, that is, people from the police force. Lam is currently the party chief, preaching morality to the entire people, through the press system.

When he was still the police chief, Lam once fled to London, England, to eat gold-plated beef with his trusted juniors, despite the entire nation struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic. That meal was carefully hidden, until chef Salt Bae – or the Salt Sprinkler, who put a piece of beef in Lam’s mouth, posted it online.

When the top is unjust, the bottom is in chaos. The former Minister of Public Security is a two-faced person, speaking morality in front of the people, but out of the people’s sight, he opens his mouth to eat gold-plated beef. So, how can he set an example for his subordinates?

Every trip of high-ranking leaders is accompanied by Lam’s soldiers. Therefore, it is very likely that Vietnam will be mentioned many more times, in international newspapers, about similar shameful things.

Is it possible that what Lam’s soldiers demonstrated in Chile and New Zealand is a special “morality” of the Party, a “Revolutionary morality”?
