After causing a crackdown famous globally in order to kill a revolutionary veteran who have nearly 60 years of Party membership in Dong Tam, Vietnamese police began a campaign to deny responsibility. The Party and Government apparatus of Vietnam immediately assisted with the rhetoric of the Ministry of Public Security to blame the people of Dong Tam.
VTV and the state-run media also launched one-way propaganda at the discretion of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Minister of Public Security To Lam, giving false information to people nationwide. They have not yet permitted international journalists to go to Dong Tam for operational purposes.
The images all show that the Vietnamese police mobilized thousands of policemen to attack at night in Dong Tam village, when people were still asleep, but the Vietnamese authorities still say the police forces were attacked by Dong Tam people.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang held a press conference on January 14, 2020 about the Dong Tam case in which police attacked and killed one citizen.
The Ministry of Public Security portal stated that the reason for the death of three policemen was due to the task of ensuring security while the army was building a fence of Mieu Mon Airport in Dong Tam commune, My Duc district, Ha Noi. Police forces were attacked by local people who used grenades, petrol bombs, iron tubes with sharp knives … to attack the task force.
Meanwhile, an unnamed villager said police and authorities entered Dong Tam commune from the outside and were there early. When they saw the police coming to Dong Tam, the people raided and alerted to gather people.
When the police came to the village, they opened fire, tear gas, rubber bullets, causing haze. Houses near the road were swept in by smoke, choking children.
Vietnam Government Information Portal on January 13, wrote: “About the repression of the police force. Amongst the measures, suppression is the last resort, when there are no other measures!”
“The application of the police forces to control and arrest criminals is a measure that complies with criminal procedures in order to investigate, clarify the case, and handle the subjects in accordance with law. Therefore, it is impossible to say ‘the police suppress the people’ but the demand for attacks and suppression of crimes must be clearly seen,” the Government of Vietnam Portal added.
However, the images of Dong Tam people recorded in the early hours of the morning of September 9, 2020 are completely different from what the Ministry of Public Security tells us, please watch the Video when police forces attacked the people of Dong Tam
Two of the three policemen died in the raid were from the Mobile/Riot Police Regiment based in Hanoi (22nd Regiment) under the Mobile/Riot Police Command. The third is from the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue of Hanoi Police Department.
VTV, the state-run one, published a scattering news “The disturbance in Dong Tam commune had been carefully planned in advance, and Le Dinh Kinh was the mastermind and leader of the target group attacking police forces.”
On the afternoon of January 13, Thanh Nien newspaper quoted a leader of the Hanoi Police Department as saying that the Hanoi Police Department had issued a decision to probe 22 detained people in a particularly serious case occurred in Dong Tam commune on January 9, for the allegation of “murdering” and “resisting state officials on duty.”
Colonel Nguyen Hong Ky, chief of My Duc district Police said on VTV on January 13: “On January 9, when the competent forces arrived at the gate of Hoanh village, the subjects took the initiative to attack the functional forces with cannon, stone bricks, petrol bombs, and especially grenades.”
In fact, Vietnamese police shot Le Dinh Kinh and arrested more than 20 people. Among the 20 people arrested and probed, is his son Le Dinh Chuc, whom neighbors said had died in the January 9 clash. His current health state is unknown. Le Dinh Cong, another son of Mr. Kinh, was also accused of murdering, appeared on VTV on January 13 to “plead guilty to directing the attack on the functional forces.”
The Government of Vietnam Portal on January 13 wrote “taking advantage of the Dong Tam incident, many bad guys have distorted and disseminated disturbing information to confuse society.”
“On social networks, there are many articles about ‘the government seizing land of the people,’ saying that people were arbitrarily taken for their land, their complaints were not considered so they were placed in no way.”
“Investigating agencies seized documents proving that Mr. Le Dinh Kinh played the role of leadership, grouping other people, including rogue and addicted people, to come to Dong Tam to vow for resistance.”
The website continued “These people have called for contributions from many places, including funding from overseas reactionary organizations, making the land claim in Dong Tam an excuse to put pressure on government, against the State..”
Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to launch the study of examples of three dead police officers in Dong Tam commune, My Duc district, Hanoi City.
The Ministry of Public Security in the afternoon of January 14 launched a campaign “studying the example of heroic sacrifice” of three police officers who died in a raid on Dong Tam village.
Previously, three policemen were awarded the First-Class Victory Merit by President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the “Fatherland Acknowledgment” award and the Ministry of Public Security promoted their ranks.
At the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Mr. Le Quy Vuong, said that “the courage and unrelenting sacrifice, the determination to protect discipline, the country and the peace and happiness of the people of the martyrs are a shining example of the revolutionary will, the spirit of ‘For the country to work, for the people to serve’ of the Vietnamese police force.”
At the same time, there was the funeral of Mr. Le Dinh Kinh, a revolutionary veteran and a member of the Communist Party of Dong Tam with nearly 60 years of membership who was killed in his house by police commandoses. His wife, Mrs.
Du Thi Thanh, was also tortured by the police while being interrogated in the district police headquarters.
The people in Dong Tam at the same time were in mourning, when Le Dinh Kinh – a revolutionary veteran of nearly 60 years of party’s membership – was shot dead at home by four bullets.
When three Vietnamese police officers died during the raid against Dong Tam people, General Secretary cum President Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister To Lam signed the reward decisions, meaning that this Party and its government, instead of serving the people, now they have become enemies of the people nationwide and encourage other police officers to learn to persecute and kill more people.
From this point on, the Party and its Government have destroyed their legitimacy.
