Former State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives bribe of $100M from Truong My Lan

An internal source said:

Recently, former Prime Minister and former State  President Nguyen Xuan Phuc was summoned to work 5 times by the Investigation Police Agency for Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling (C03) of the Ministry of Public Security at 47 Pham Van Dong, Cau Giay district, Hanoi. However, on the morning of August 5, Phuc submitted a request to the Investigation Police Agency to serve the prosecution agency at his private home because he was suffering from a serious illness.

Phuc explained that he was sick, but he still went around attending conferences to prove that he was normal and nothing had happened. On the evening of August 7, Phuc attended the 50th Anniversary of the Thuong Duc Victory Day in Quang Nam with a tired, anxious and bored mood, so his image was restricted from being published in Quang Nam province newspapers.

Currently, the investigation agency has enough evidence to confirm that Phuc received $100 million from Van Thinh Phat’s Chairwoman Truong My Lan. However, Phuc is still denying and may have to compromise in the future to ask for a lighter sentence.

We will wait and see whether justice will be served or not.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Truong My Lan

Currently, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Lam – although he has just been promoted to Deputy Minister of Public Security – is still leading the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic and Smuggling Crimes (C03) of the Ministry of Public Security in capacity of Director of this agency.

In the coming time, Colonel Nguyen Quang Phuong (born in 1976, from Quang Ninh) – currently Deputy Director of C03 – will take over the position of Director of C03, succeeding Major General Nguyen Ngoc Lam.
